Creativity was flowing at the Senior Center! With knitting needles in hand, members of the Yarn B’s worked on their different projects including hats, scarves and sweaters, all of which they donate to various charities and organizations.

The December 1 issue of the Community e-Newsletter is now available! The publication covers student and staff successes, School Board news, and school and Community Education offerings.
The WBLAHS gymnasium will be dedicated as Galvin Court, in honor of long-time coach, teacher, and community member Jim Galvin, before the first boys’ varsity home basketball game on Dec. 13. A 5:30 p.m. reception will take place near the gym in room 1021, with a 6:30 p.m. on-court ceremony to take place before the 7 p.m. Boys’ Varsity Basketball game vs. FLAHS. Game tickets can be purchased at www.isd624.org/tickets or at the door.
Community members are invited to stop by throughout the academic year for an informal chat with Superintendent Kazmierczak over a cup of coffee at the Downtown White Bear Lake Caribou Coffee for the following Coffee with Dr. K events:
- Nov. 19 from 4-5 p.m.
- Feb. 27 from 12-1 p.m.
- May 6 from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
The White Bear Lake Area School Board recently approved an Elementary Spanish Dual Immersion program, set to launch in Fall 2025. The enrollment window for the 2025-26 school year will open on December 16, 2024.

Students at Tamarack Nature Center met a special bird: Innu, the Northern Saw Whet Owl. The visit was part of their lesson about owls and it was captured in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.
The Middle School Girls' Basketball Team kicked off their season last week with a game versus Stillwater.
Tickets are on sale for the WBLAHS Fall Musical “Legally Blonde The Musical.” Shows are at 7 p.m. on Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 21-23 and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 16. Free senior tickets are available for the Nov. 16 matinee.

The district’s youngest bears, from birth through preschool, began their educational journeys earlier this month.
At the September School Board Regular Meeting, senior Lydia Kleinhans was welcomed as the student representative for the 2024-25 school year.
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) results were released this week. White Bear Lake Area Schools district-wide scores remain above the state proficiency levels in reading and math.
The White Bear Lake Area School District is pleased to announce that Susan Herder has been chosen to serve as the district’s Director of Technology and Innovation. She will begin her new role on July 29.
