Senior Center Closed

The situation surrounding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak continues to evolve rapidly. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified older adults and people with underlying health conditions as potentially more likely to have serious COVID-19 illness.

To help prevent the spread of the virus among our senior community, the White Bear Lake Area School District’s Senior Center will proactively be closed starting Friday, March 13. We anticipate we will open our doors again on Monday, April 6. We will continue to monitor the recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and will keep our senior community informed if the planned re-open date changes.

Although the Senior Center will be closed, the Senior Program will continue to be available to answer your questions via phone and email. Office staff and elder resource specialists will continue to be available via phone at 651-653-3121 and by email at As of now, Meals on Wheels home delivery service will continue to run as normal.

Additional information and resources can be found at the district’s website,, or directly at the CDC.

Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate this situation,

Dr. Wayne A. Kazmierczak
Superintendent of White Bear Lake Area Schools
