Providing School-Age Care for students during During Fall 2020.

Tier 1 Critical Workers Care

Per Executive Order 20-82, the school district will offer a school day program for students grades K-6th of Tier 1 Critical Workers. 

  • Tier 1 programming will cover the complete school day hours, prior to the shortened school day for 2020-21.

    • Elementary School: 9:00 am - 3:40 pm
    • Middle School: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
    • Programming during this time will be FREE to these students. 
       
  • The complete list of qualifying positions for Tier 1 is included in the appendix on page 22-25 of Minnesota’s Safe Learning Plan, click here to see if you qualify.

    • Employment verification requires a current letter from your employer that identifies your position as Tier I
    • Employment verification letters should be sent to communityservices@isd624.org
       
  • Tier 1 critical workers MUST register their students for each non-classroom day and the 1 hour school time extension which they will need care.

    • Registrations will be accepted on a rolling and space-available basis. 

      • There may be a delay of up to 10 school days if registrations are not completed by Wednesday, August 26.

NOTE: On Fridays, Sunrise and Central students will be together at Central Middle School. Program is available from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

  • As of now, the District is working to include as many Tier 1 students into their home schools. However, this may not be possible at all schools or for all the students, depending on enrollment and our strict capacity guidelines. For this reason, families should be aware that all information, including site designation, is subject to change. 

    • Any changes in location will be communicated to families with at least 5 days notice. 

  • There is no transportation available for students on their non-classroom days. 

  • Students will receive support in getting connected to their synchronous learning class times during Tier 1 programming. Staff will ensure students have space and resources to complete learning board activities.

Out of School Time Programming for All Students

  • Fee-based programming before school, after school, and all-day Fridays.
  • Options for all students, grades K-8.
  • Independent learning support for students on Fridays. 
  • Hands-on enrichment, recreation activities and social emotional learning opportunities in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

Extended Day
(Grades K-5)

  • Extended Day is offered at all elementary schools. 
  • Extended Day provides before and after school programming Monday through Thursday as well as full-day options on Fridays for all community families. 
  • Registration deadline to start on the first day of school is Tuesday, August 25. 

  • After August 25, registrations will be accepted on a space available basis, with the soonest start date the week of September 16.
