Middle School Athletics
White Bear Lake Area Schools Community Education and Recreation Department offers middle school students a variety of athletic opportunities.
All middle school students in grades 6-8 may participate in any of the activities listed below.
Before students are allowed to participate, they must have a current MSHSL sports physical on file (within the last three years), register through SmartSchools, and pay the participation fee.

Middle School Intramurals
Our Middle School Intramural Program is designed to provide fun, active, and accessible after-school sports opportunities for all students in grades 6-8. Students from both Central and Mariner Middle Schools will participate together, with transportation provided between schools.
Program offerings:
- Ultimate Frisbee - fall and spring
- Flag football - spring (boys and girls teams offered)
- Boys volleyball - spring
Fee: $60 per activity
No sports physical required.
Intramural programs meet twice per week after school from 4 p.m.-5:15 p.m. Program dates vary by activity; please check your specific session details.
